This past Thursday Graysen turned 22 months old. 2 more months and she will be 2! She is acting like such a big girl. Here is some video from this weekend. She loves Princesses, Cars, The Park and she even went down the big girl slide at the park for the first time. She also went to her first movie to see Disney’s The Princess and the Frog and sat through the whole thing. She loves other kids and any attention that will come her way. She goes to sleep well for naps and night time. She says prayers which sound like: ” God, Mommy, Daddy, Gran-ma, Grand-dad, Graysen, Salty, Pepper, Jesus, Amen.” It’s quite precious. Sometimes she will throw other things and people in the prayer like Milk, Minnie, Blankie, Book, etc… she sleeps with many stuffed animals. Right now Elmo, Duck, Bunny, and Bear occupy her crib. Other occasional tenants include but are not limited to Minnie Mouse, Mickey,Pony, Huffalump, Doggie, Baby( One of her 4), Abby or Zoe. She sleeps with multiple blankets and a pillow. She is partial to her Bunnie quilt that was handmade for her. It’s quite warm. Her favorite food is pancakes. Her favorite snack is mini m&m’s. Her favorite Drink is Milk. She is very affectionate. She loves giving hugs and kisses. My favorite thing is when she gives hugs she will give me one then John and then say ” Graysen Hug” . She will curl her arms inward and shrug her shoulders. It’s super cute. Also she loves to give Eskimo kisses and butterfly kisses as well as regular kisses and finger kisses (Imagine E.T.). She is something special. She loves to paint when I let her and loves to make messes. John walked on her emptying a box of Kleenex and she told him “Daddy I made mess”. Graysen is very athletic and can run and jump (with both feet) with the best of them. We go to Gymboree every week. She loves it there. Her favorite part is Gymbo stamps. She runs past and wiggles in front of all the kids so she can get her stamps first. Also you better not forget her belly stamp or she will let you know about it. Can you tell I love this girl. She is sweet natured and good hearted. She is hurt if you get onto her and she is always trying to please. (This makes disciple relatively easy! ) Thanks again God for giving us sweet Graysen.
Today is the 2nd anniversary of my mom’s death. I can’t believe how fast 2 years has flown by. I miss her today every bit as much as I did the day she was taken from this life. I do have happier thoughts and don’t cry as much when I think of her now. It’s easy to stay busy with your life and not think about those who have passed. It is also easy to stay busy with your life and not realize the purpose for which you were made. Though my mom and I had a hard road I know that who I am today is based on the life that I lived then. Through good and bad your family is what matters most. Remember that even if you are the worlds worst parent there is still hope. I wasn’t close with my mom until after I started college. I actually didn’t even talk with her my 2 last years of high school when I lived with a foster family (My best Friends Parents). God gave my mom and I another opportunity to care for one another and even in the end share god by going to church together. This was the greatest blessing to me. My mom was a great Grandma and treated our foster kids as if they were her own grand kids. I enjoyed getting to see my mom with Lilly and I know she would have loved Graysen so much. I often see bits of my mom’s personality in Graysen. I see some in myself as well. It is a nice reminder of who I am, where I come from and where I am going.

I love you and miss you Mom but I know your in good hands!
It’s a little hard to hear. I am repeating what she is saying so you can understand her better. Enjoy and have a good morning.
Note: yes, my Christmas tree is still up. Yes, I plan on taking it down at some point. Yes, we had a fun time despite the tree being up. Yes, I still am enjoying my Christmas tree lights at night.
