Most brides have the details of their wedding planned out exactly, and know just how they want every aspect of their wedding. Often though, brides realize they’ve forgotten to pick out gifts for their bridesmaids, even though the bride may have been planning her wedding since she was five years old.
Bridesmaid gifts have always been an important gesture made by the bride to show her bridesmaids just how much she appreciates their dedication and willingness to make her wedding day perfect. It’s the least a bridesmaid can do, so picking out gifts that are special are of the upmost importance.
If you’re going to be a bride soon, give your bridesmaid gifts some special thought. Buying generic gifts for each bridesmaid can be extremely impersonal.
Consider this for example. The costs of being a bridesmaid can quickly add up. Between buying the dress, shoes, accessories, a wedding gift, and getting a manicure or having a hairstyle done for the big day, being a bridesmaid is actually a very under-appreciated role in weddings. If you’re not already taking care of your bridesmaid’s hair appointment, makeup, or manicure, then consider buying your bridesmaids a spa and salon package to pamper them, and let them choose when they’d like to use it. Go to a local spa and salon that offers massages, manicures and pedicures, haircare, facials and other treatments, and buy either one gift card so that the bridesmaid can choose any service she’d like, or plan a day of pampering for the bridesmaid, from receiving a pedicure to finishing a relaxing day with a calming massage. Every woman loves the feeling of being pampered, and there’s no doubt your bridesmaids would love this gift, as they can use it to prepare for the wedding to help offset the costs, or they can use it after the wedding to have their own special day!
There’s no doubt that you know each of your bridesmaids and that every single one has unique interests, skills, hobbies, or favorite things. Everyone loves receiving a gift that is reflective of who they are, so why not purchase a different gift basket for each bridesmaid that is filled with things specific to each bridesmaid. For instance, if one bridesmaid loves music, fill a basket with CDs, an MP3 player, a gift card to purchase MP3s with, and tickets to her favorite musician’s concert. If you have a bridesmaid that loves books, fill a basket with books by her favorite author, gift cards to a local bookstore, tickets to an upcoming book festival, a Kindle, and perhaps some tea or coffee for her to sip on while she reads.
Buying gifts like these show that you took time out of your busy wedding planning schedule to make sure they know that you really do appreciate what they’re doing for you, and it will mean a lot to them that you have remembered how special and unique they are, even though it’s your big day!
